This contest was an online contest with Internet access and each team member allowed their own computer. The combination of three computers per team (instead of one) and Internet access apears to have increased the rate of submissions and solutions. This change definitely allowed one team to dominate the "First to Solve" category. The first place team, University of Texas at Dallas Whoosh was the first team to solve 10 of the 16 problems (and tied to the nearest minute on an 11th problem). Whoosh went on to solve all 16 problems in less than three hours.

The top three were clearly delineated:

  1. University of Texas at Dallas Whoosh solved all 16 problems
  2. Texas A&M tamoo solved 15 problems
  3. University of Texas at Austin O(range) solved 14 problems

Fourth through tenth solved 11 problems each.

Nine teams from six Universities are eexpected to advance to the NADC.

Thanks to all of the contestants, coaches, judges, and staff that made this contest possible.

Things to do before the Opening Webinar

All

Make sure you upgrade to latest Zoom!

Contestants

Before the contest starts, you need to make sure you can login to Kattis. If you have multiple Kattis login IDs -- make SURE you use the one matching the e-mail address you used to sign up for ICPC (If you see spectator below your name -- you have the WRONG account).

Message from Kattis Team:

Please remind participants that they should use the account that is associated with their ICPC registration email (if they have multiple Kattis accounts). Any Kattis user can login to a contest (and even make submissions), but if they are using an account that is not on a team for the contest, they are not actually participating in the contest. A non-participant will see "Spectator" on the top right of their page. If the person is on a team for the contest, but they see "Spectator", that's a sign they are using the wrong account.

Team Advancement

Things are different this year in regard to advancement (imagine that). The top nine (9) teams will advance from this regional to the NA Regional Championship. Unlike the past, as many as two (2) teams from the same school may advance to this playoff. Additional team(s) may receive an invite.

After the regional, the NA Regional Playoff will happen. Advancing teams from all regionals will compete for an invite to a week long training camp followed by a contest to select the teams that will be invited to World Finals from North America.
